Collected Works is delighted to be delivering a series of free, creative drop sessions in Brighton & Hove Libraries part of National Storytelling Week for local community publisher, QueenSpark Books. The sessions are part of QueenSpark’s Archive Alive project which is being supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The idea behind the sessions is to showcase QueenSpark’s four new local history books and to involve Brighton residents in their local heritage and history.
The drop in sessions will:
- Use QueenSpark’s latest local history publications as a starting point for discussion.
- Include a creative activity (e.g. creative writing and collage making).
- Be led by two facilitators (Ann Cattrall & Hilary Cooke) plus volunteers.
- Be free, accessible and friendly, with all materials provided.
The books being showcased are:
Behind the Façade - The Terraced Communities of Brighton & Hove
Brighton’s Outskirts – People, Place, Community
Brighton’s Alternative Spaces – People, Place, Culture
Brighton’s Unsung Heroes - Everyday Lives of Ordinary People
