Young, Human and Creative

yh&c title for web

This summer we ran a competition for 16 - 25 year olds, inviting them to respond to the themes of the City Reads 2015 ‘big read’ - The Humans by Matt Haig. Entrants were invited to explore ‘what it means to be human’ via the following categories:

The entries were judged by illustrator Nye Wright, writer Hannah Vincent and photographer David Levine. Below is the work of all our very talented entrants (click on image to see it larger) which will also be on display at Jubilee Library in the Young People’s Area from Sat 10 October. Congratulations to the winners of each category: Ellie Rankin (photography), Farrah Jane (flash fiction) and Joe MckElvey (graphic novel excerpt). Each of them has won a mentoring session with their respective judge.
